With the dusk in his hair
and a world yet to see
the travelling man
he walks slower than me
He buttons his collar
and laughs at the rain
and finds him a highway
to travel again.
With salt in his hair
and a world yet to see
the sea-loving man
he walks down to the quay
He buttons his collar
and laughs at the rain and
finds him an ocean
to travel again.
But a man follows signs
from a room hung with blinds
to a ship which awaits
in the depths of his mind
The harbours are broken
the lighthouses dim
the sirens are silent
It’s only the wind
The stars re-arrange
and the waters will roll
as he travels alone
in the land of the soul
