Joy, Oh Joy (feat. Philippa Hanna) lyric video and MP3 out now.
Graham Kendrick says: “Among the stories of Lord Shaftesbury’s extraordinary life, I was moved by how he would often host joyful feasts for those he campaigned for, where not only hungry mouths were fed, but such worth, dignity and generosity was afforded his guests that they had never dreamed possible. It was this, and the parable of the feast that Jesus told, that inspired me to write Joy, Oh Joy in his honour, and to celebrate the amazing work of Shaftesbury that continues to the present day.”
Sheet music and chord charts are also available now.
Streaming will be available soon.

Shaftesbury created a special version of the song ahead of Graham’s official release later this year. People with and without disabilities came together at recording studios in Dorset, Essex, London and Gateshead to contribute in whatever way was meaningful to them, whether singing, signing, dancing or playing percussion. The recording features Alisha, 18, a student at one of Shaftesbury’s specialist colleges, performing a verse as a soloist, and David, 79, a resident of Shaftesbury supported living accommodation in the North East, who has been with the charity since 1999.
