As we pass through
We sometimes lose the sense
Of now or never
How sweet a lie the lullaby
That life goes on forever

Our lives we spend
As if no end of time was ours to borrow
But if we touch, yet never hold
Life will slip through our fingers

How sweet it seems to hold our dreams
Like lovers for our comfort, oh, Lord
How often we still cling to dreams
When they are found unfaithful

Lord, take my life
Oh, and shake me from sleep
Don’t let me waste one more minute
Of Your precious time
Fill me again
Oh, and set me on fire
Show me a vision
Of what You intend me to be
Lord, take my life
It’s all for You

When as a child
I watched the hands of time
Move in slow motion
But now the years just disappear
Like ships upon the ocean

And if I sleep
Your precious love becomes
Like buried treasure
And all the time
Your beauty shines
But no one sees its brightness

This is my life, this is today
Oh, take it now and use it, oh, Lord
Oh, let me be now in Your hands
Like an instrument of music

Lord, take my life
Oh, and shake me from sleep
Don’t let me waste one more minute
Of Your precious time
Oh, fill me again
And set me on fire
Show me a vision
Of what You intend me to be
Lord, take my life
It’s all for You

Lord, take my life
It’s all for You
Lord, take my life
It’s all for You
